Ruth Williams Hennessy is, quite simply put, a marvel. Her knowledge of the body's muscular system and how it affects singing is unique. I've witnessed first-hand how an adjustment of posture and release of tension in muscles you didn't know you had can hugely impact the way you sing. I've been a devotee of her for several years and am always amazed at her complete understanding and perception of the human body and her philosophy that it takes all of you to be able to sing. She has an amazing ability to identify sources of tension and address them immediately and in many cases with instantaneous results. If you ever have the opportunity to work with her, grab it with both hands. You'll be so glad you did. Ruth opens up a whole new world. -- Elizabeth Byrne, International and Metropolitan Opera artist; Voice Performance and Opera Faculty, DePaul University

The first time I saw Ruth Williams Hennessy in action at a workshop I was stunned by the immediate results she got and how her simple approach worked for all the performers. Because this training is based in the way our bodies work, her method works for everyone--no matter the style of music. Her work offers an entirely new level of kinesiology, muscle balance, and physics that makes so much sense and really works!
Ruth’s clear, intense observations of the performers inspired me to take her Teacher Training course. My teaching is transformed by practicing under the guidance of this clear, kind, and generous teacher. I use her methods and exercises with all my students – children, teens, adults, beginners, rock ‘n’ rollers, gospel singers, classical singers, and musical theater singers--with equally happy results. No matter who you teach, how you teach, or what you teach, I highly recommend Hennessy Breath and Body Work Teacher Training and its founder, Ruth Williams Hennessy. -- Kathy Cowan, soprano; Voice Faculty, Northeastern Illinois University; Voice Faculty, Old Town School of Folk Music
